Plurals In Media project

Went trawling through the plurality tag on Dreamwidth and found a neat-looking project!

[personal profile] pluralsinmedia is a blog dedicated to cataloguing and reviewing plural (or pluralesque) characters in media. Their DW appears to be a mirror for the main blog on Tumblr, but it appears to be equally up-to-date.

While the project seems fairly new and there's no telling if it'll stick around or what direction it'll go in the long run, we're seeing a LOT of green flags from it that have caused it to pique our interest in a way similar projects haven't!

- An statement of inclusion from a neurodiversity/Mad Pride standpoint, and a refusal to entertain any wankery about what's Plural Enough.
- A statement that they aren't a definitive voice for the community, and that their blog isn't a replacement for research or dedicated sensitivity reading.
- A clearly defined scoring system that focuses less upon "this is the One Correct Way to write a plural character(s)," and more upon "these are the tropes in play in this story, and here's some notes on ones that may be distressing!"
- A rule that they will NOT be reviewing characters made by actual plurals, but that they will put them on the big character list.

As someones who regularly tear their hair out about marginalized folks browbeating other marginalized folks for not writing The Perfect Representation(tm), it's VERY encouraging to see this level of thoughtfulness for a project like this! We're looking forward to seeing more of their posts, and might submit a few suggestions of our own once they get their unreviewed characters list up.
