hungryghostsWe are finally out of Distress-8 after setting some much-needed boundaries with work, taking a day of rest, and watching some cozy speedrunning streams. Lots of thank yous to everyone who's sent us support. <3 Our next week is our on-call week, but hopefully it won't be too awful.
On a different topic, I ended up accidentally writing half an essay about a bit of plural rhetoric that's become increasingly common, and increasingly frustrating: the idea that "headmates can't die, they can only go dormant." I'll see if I ever get around to the second half, given our track record with essays.
Speaking of which - we've been using Habitica recently to keep ourselves accountable. It's been helpful for keeping us on track with exercise and hygiene. Maybe I should add an essay-related task? Even if it's just one sentence a day, it'll still be better than our current "burst of inspiration, write half an essay in one go and a bunch of notes for the rest, return a day later only to find out we've forgotten what words are" antipattern.
