Reddit-free for half a month and counting! We still get immense urges to go have stupid pointless arguments on the Internet to distract ourselves from the stresses in our life, but for the most part we've filled those empty spaces in our time with nicer things.

Still get social stimulation cravings, though, which we've ended up filling by refreshing Habitica's main chatroom over and over instead. Oh well. It's a MUCH nicer Internet pit to be stuck in than Reddit. Remind me to talk about how this place builds community, because I am seriously impressed.

We are also learning how to talk to the speedrunners we watch. We are always nervous about parasocial relationships, but they seem to appreciate having people in chat who are friendly and supportive without being overly familiar.

God, now that we've been out of Reddit and in nicer places, we can tell how abrasive that site was actually making us. It's so much easier to be patient and building-up rather than tearing-down now.

trying to avoid having pointless arguments on the internet gang

for us its a bit different, we're trying to avoid Discord servers where people are needlessly combative because it takes time and energy getting riled up and arguing with them, but we still use Discord, we just focus on talking to friends and having positive interactions with people in general

Good job trying to build better ways to get your needs met! Building-up is more important, if you ask me, even though it's usually less obvious, more subtle, and less cool!
