Dreamwidth Followpost
Aug. 14th, 2025 07:23 pmDreamwidth got brought up this Othercon a bunch and a lot of new people made accounts here. It can be hard to find folks to follow and get followed on DW so I thought I'd make a post where people can comment with a little bit about themselves (or just say hi if you're blanking out), and hopefully that'll make it easier for people to find each other.
Please feel free to comment even if you have literally nothing on your account yet. Veteran users and non-Othercon-goers are welcome to comment as well! Likewise please feel free to share any Dreamwidth newbie resources that you have on hand.

Hello from the realm of fiction
Date: 2025-08-15 03:02 am (UTC)We love writing metatextual analyses of fiction, as well as aspects of our own practices and identity as fiction people who reconstruct the Kingdom Hearts cosmology (often those two types overlap). Expect a lot of mysterious and emotionally poignant writing with constant blurring of genre (at least, we hope it’s emotionally poignant!)
We haven’t posted anything to dreamwidth yet, but we’re about to start, so if that interests you—um! Thanks. And feel free to follow us.

Date: 2025-08-15 03:07 am (UTC)Anyway I'm nonhuman (I'm both a faery and a reploid, as well as being human too) and also the host of a small and mostly fictive system. These days we generally describe ourselves as being made of stories.

Date: 2025-08-15 03:20 am (UTC)Welcome!
Date: 2025-08-15 03:20 am (UTC)The Follow Friday Master Post has lists of active communities by topic where you can look for some based on your interests. Many bloggers use recurring posts to pin down their key interests and maintain activity, which is also a good source of inspiration if you aren't sure what you want to post yet.
Otherkin may enjoy communities like:
Essays, poetry, and other original writing about alternative humanity personal identity.
A place for those from elsewhere.
A community for those who identify as Other.
A safer community for those who are Other.
News for all sorts of alterhumans.
You might also watch for folks from the late, lamented Cohost which used to have a userbase with lots of alternative people. A couple of places worth checking out:
A little community for cohost users.
Prompts typically use the format "An X who Y."

I am a shapeshifter, and fey. I don't talk about it much, but it does show. I am quite obviously a freak and even ordinary humans often notice that I am not like them.
This post has my tiny terrarium tutorial and a glimpse of a small part of my fairy window.

Date: 2025-08-15 05:17 am (UTC)I've had a system / life events journal here for a while that's caught a lot of changes and shifts over the years. Most of it's access locked because trust issues are a thing, but I do tend to grant access to folks in my circle who feel safe or get to know me/us. There are also a handful of public posts that get more effort put into them. I'd like to share more polished writing here eventually too in addition to on my website.
Frequent topics:
- System happenings
- Life events and feelings around them
- Deep diving into weird brain shit
- Musing on sanity, insanity, and social pressures around those concepts
- Random creative dabbling (announcing zines, music, etc.)
- Tech, sometimes.
Eyoo!

Date: 2025-08-15 10:43 am (UTC)I mostly post about my experiences as a demon and as a psychological kin who's spent WAYYY too long thinking about the "whys" of my brain in regards to all of this stuff. I just wrote an essay on my identity as Rin Okumura that I'm hoping will be approved by Fictionkind mods soon so people can read it :)
